Job Description


Responsible for identifying and resolving quality problems. Implements various components of a quality assurance program comprised of data analysis, systems evaluation, product assessment, and quality technology. Develops process control procedures. Responsible
for supervising quality control leads, technicians, inspectors, and/or auditors in assigned area or unit. Responsible for raw material, in-process, or finished goods quality control. Researches product defects recommending modifications in products or standards
and prepares necessary reports. 


1. Actively manage inspection/quality practices to eliminate escapes and minimize customer returns.

2. Review and track all internal and customer quality concerns (NCRs).  Work with customers, engineering, operations, and vendors and other company functions to determine appropriate corrective actions and facilitate the effective closure of these actions.

3. Team member for the APQP process for new product development and launch; including, but not limited to PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, etc.

4. Report on the performance of the QMS, metrics, and all related issues during Management Reviews or as appropriate.  Recommend appropriate improvements.

5. Manage the MRB process and facilitate and champion the corrective action process.

6. Responsible for development and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System.

7. Mange MRB process and champion the corrective action process.

8. Maintain all Quality Assurance records.

9. Manage internal and supplier audits, as required by customers and the company’s Quality Management System.  Serve as the organizations Management Representative for audits from outside sources.

10. Provide leadership and/or support of plant quality and continuous improvement programs including Six Sigma, SPC, and other customer driven programs.

11. Assist in contract review and develop inspection/approval criteria for all phases of product realization.

12. Provide or facilitate the realization of training to employees as required.

13. Drive cost improvement and productivity initiatives throughout Quality Assurance and the plant.

14. Support and enforce all plant safety and environmental requirements and policies.



25 % of time spent on manufacturing floor, 75% spent in office environment.



  1. Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of four (4) years relevant experience.
  2. Certifications preferred:  Metrology, Quality Technician, and Six Sigma
  3. Must be proficient with ISO 9001, TS 16949, and OHSAS 18001.
  4. Be well versed in complex, multi-step manufacturing processes, and be willing to work with outside vendors to improve processes and complete corrective actions.
  5. Travel to other NAMF facilities and to customers across North America (quality issues).
  6. Must possess good interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), critical thinking, organizational, statistical, and strong computer skills.
  7. Must be able to work closely with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, managers, and sales to resolve quality issues.
  8. Must have ability to motivate, coach, and lead others.
  9. Pragmatic and results-oriented, analytical, with strong attention to detail.
  10. Ability to foster a strong work ethic, team environment, “can-do” attitude, and operational excellence.
