Project Engineer – Dynatec – a Division of ITW

Hendersonville, TN

The Project Engineer provides technical engineering and project management throughout the entire cycle from inception and design through production.  In charge of scope, schedule and budget, it is the primary technical Dynatec contact point for the customer.  This position is an entry level position and will be under guidance from other employees during early stages.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop the project in terms of scope, budget, schedule and technical criteria in accordance with company, contract and client procedures and requirements.
  • Act as the primary design engineer for the project and coordinate with other engineering resources and global production resources for the completion of the project design, validation and production.
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, pricing, profit profiles, and other supporting documents.
  • Support business development with customer visits and presentations.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and effective customer communications throughout the execution of projects.
  • Plan, manage, host, and verify that all internal factory authorized test (FAT) objectives for assigned projects have been achieved and that customer objectives have been achieved.
  • Coordinate with customers and internal departments to plan and schedule system installations, start-up, commissioning, validation, and training.
  • Coordinate client and internal activities including design review meetings, quality assurance requirements and contract change orders, and obtain project acceptance by the client.
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports, schedule updates, cash flow projections and budget.
  • Report and present project reviews to management, as required.
  • Establish requirements for project completion (punch list) to obtain client’s acceptance (release authorization) and final payment.

Job Requirements

  • Must have have strong but tactful influential ability and demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing project costs and preparing reports.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Familiarity with ISO quality requirements and procedures.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%
