Job Description

ITW Powertrain Fastening serves major tier suppliers with tightly toleranced and innovative components for the automotive and industrial markets totaling approximately $300M in revenues globally. The Division holds  a  leadership position in North America and a growing presence in Europe. The division also supports ITW initatives for our facility in China.

The division drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions,  design engineering and global footprint.  

Project managers of medium to large engineering projects (typically $25 - $75 million). Manages the project team and maintain records of key project milestones. Specialized knowledge allows incumbent to analyze needs of the project and business. May lead or work in cross-functional teams to ensure successful completion of the project. Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

 

The Program Manager will be responsible for managing new programs to meet specified financial, quality, timing and operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete ownership of a project/program launch for the Division from point of sales award through SOP + 90 days, including:
    • Develop and track program timing, costs, and recovery (customer and internal).
    • Manage engineering changes (component and final parts) including cost, timing and receipts.
    • Single point of elevation for critical issues that would prevent meeting defined goals/metrics.
  • Manage APQP meetings (internal and external).
  • Maintain TS 16949 systems for design, product validation, program management and others as applicable.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and lead internal launch readiness reviews.
  • Prepare for, coordinate, and lead customer launch readiness reviews as required.
  • Evaluate launch performance.
  • Other projects as required either internally or by the customer.

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a technical focus.
  • Must have 4 years of Project/Program Management experience in the Automotive industry.
  • Proven ability to manage effective program launches.
  • Ability to measure/track/assess the overall “health” of the program through metrics as defined by management.
  • Familiar with automotive systems and requirements-preferably under-hood systems.
  • Familiar with “Lean Operating” principles.
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in MS Office programs, with an emphasis on MS Project.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels within a matrix environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% is required. Occasionally, travel may be international.
  • Supervisor experience preferred but not required.
