Job Description

Educational/Skill Guidelines:  Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English).  Ability to complete routine production and quality reports.

 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts (i.e. probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane, solid geometry, and trigonometry).  Ability to apply concepts (i.e. fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions) to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and solve a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Successful completion of accredited apprenticeship program; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Job Requirements

  • BASIC FUNCTIONS:

 

Organizes and maintains tooling and equipment needed to meet customer specifications and quality requirements.

 

  • Organizes and adjusts tooling in production equipment.
  • Performs maintenance on tooling. Utilizes tool room to sharpen or fabricate tooling as required.
  • Diagnoses machine failures and other mechanical problems. Takes necessary corrective repair actions in a timely manner.
  • Assists and instructs Machine Operators and Apprentices to maintain production. Possible call for assistance to operate production equipment as required.
  • Updates spare tooling.
  • Maintains good housekeeping standards.
  • Follows all rules, regulations and work processes set forth by the company.
  • Maintains a safe working environment.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business.

 

 

 

2.0       PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

 

  • Stand; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate by speaking and hearing.
  • Walk and sit for short periods of time.
  • Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 40lbs and move more than 100 lbs.
  • Vision: Ability to view objects at close distance.

3.0       WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

 

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently exposed to vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock.
  • Regularly exposed to loud noise levels in the working environment.
  • Proper safety equipment required (earplugs, eye protections, steel-toe shoes).
