TOOLMAKERS - EYELET AND PROGRESSIVE

 

 ITW Powertrain Fastening a division of Illinois Tool Works, is seeking skilled production toolmakers to join the team in our Naugatuck, CT facility. Openings available on 1st and 2nd shift.

 

Primary responsibilities: Setup and maintain production of deep drawn eyelets and stampings primarily used in the automotive industry on US Baird, Waterbury Farrel, and Progressive Presses from 60 to 200 Ton.  Experience in the use of general tool room equipment is essential, along with other basic knowledge required to meet customer drawings.

Job Requirements

Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time.  Employee must be able to wear all personal protective equipment required to perform the job.

 

Employee must have completed an accredited technical or vocational school education, including course work in shop math, physics, drafting, blueprint reading, and metalworking, or equivalent experience in each of these areas.

 

Employee must possess mechanical aptitude.  Employee must be able to use hand and measuring tools in fitting and assembly operations, as well as operate drill press, manual milling machine, lathe, grinders, and other mechanical equipment.

 

Knowledge of cold heading tool and die design and construction; metal properties; and layout, machining and assembly procedures is preferred.
