Position Summary:

ITWIS is looking for candidate that is a self-starter, problem solver and has a sense of urgency. The Production Team Leader is responsible for managing all aspects of manufacturing, which include managing the production of all the company’s products and the coordination with warehouse for the timely shipping. The successful candidate will report to the Unit Manager. This position will be located in the Mississauga, Ontario area.

Job Responsibilities:

●  Directs and participates in all activities for the Plant and Shipping Department.

●  Oversees, monitors, coordinates, prioritizes and participates in all Shipping activities to achieve business needs and goals.

●  Assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment.

●  Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.

●  Receives and unpacks materials and supplies.

●  Applies quality standards and reports damages and discrepancies for accounting reimbursement and record-keeping purposes.

●  Serves as an active safety leader and applies and enforces all rules.

●  Acts as liaison between team members and the rest of the organization.

●  Handles 1st step disciplinary action with manager’s approval.

●  Uses some software to accomplish work tasks.

●  Responsible for monitoring and recording production rates and works with management to improve production, safety and quality.

●  Maintains supplies on hand for team, as needed.

●  Provides ongoing training to direct reports, as required.

●  Offers employee performance input to manager during the Review cycle.

●  Conducts team and safety meetings as required.

●  Monitors department’s monthly overall work load and recommends staffing changes to management.

●  Applies ITW tool box training.

●  Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

●  Minimum high school diploma. Associates degree preferred.

●  2 or more years in a Team Lead/Supervisory role in a manufacturing environment

●  Forklift certified

●  Able to lift consistently

●  Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) skills

●  People skills like leadership, communication, problem solving and teamwork.
