Job Description

The Production Supervisor will be responsible to Supervise Manufacturing Departments in both locations promoting an engaged, safe work environment. Responsible for assigning and coordinating the work in Manufacturing to ensure production process flows without problems while maximizing productivity, minimizing cost and maintaining quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage daily production schedule to ensure safety, service, quality, cost and productivity objectives are met. Track and utilize KPIs in daily activities. Ensure staff is aware of the operational targets and are engaged in activities to ensure they are met. Set high expectations for staff and motivate staff to meet those expectations.

  • Utilize ITW FtB tools and concepts in decision making. This includes prioritizing the 80 over the 20, utilizing USa tools to drive process improvement and simplifications and ensures that staff is conversant with these concepts.

  • Act as a liaison between management and production employees. Lead by example. Support and communicate company policies

  • Maintain and improve the manufacturing environment to respond to changing customer needs and demands through facilitating cell layout, processing plans and participate in selecting equipment to simplify and focus manufacturing processes.

  • Ensure OT requirements are met to ensure ongoing operational capabilities.

  • Participate in committees/teams as required

  • Ensure new employee’s training requirements are met. Provides feedback to employee on any shortcoming and direct corrective actions as needed.

  • Provide reports on critical information

  • Prepare performance evaluations, conduct monthly coaching sessions with employees, and administer corrective action as needed

  • Follows all procedures as outlined by ISO 9001, OSHA and IATF 16949.

  • Ensure that all ITW guidelines are followed and safety work practices are enforced.

  • Other duties as assigned or directed.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience (3+ years) leading a team in a manufacturing production environment
  • Previous Quality Inspection Experience
  • Knowledge and Experience with Injection Molding Preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of business financials
  • Proven ability to apply lean principles in a manufacturing environment
  • Skilled at performance management and providing formal & informal feedback to employees
  • Possess the track record of a proven leader and team player, demonstrates positive attitude, takes personal accountability, coaches, listens, approachable, and resolves issues/conflicts in timely manner and appropriate process
  • Exhibit encouragement of diverse ideas, focus on coaching/developing strengths of team members and facilitate effective communication
  • Be customer-focused with management, support staff, customers and suppliers; understand how the business functions link together to support the customer (i.e. engineering, materials, and accounting)
  • Strong computer, oral and written communication skills. Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule; including overtime and weekends
