Job Description


The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of manufacturing, which include mixing, packaging, coordination with Q.C. for timely testing and coordination with the warehouse for timely shipping.

Includes the following & other duties may be assigned.

  1. Manage the production of all the company’s products at optimum quality.
  2. Able to create work orders for production batches, fill and packing processes.
  3. Plan the daily production schedule to meet on time delivery requirements.
  4. Coordinate required annual physical inventory count.
  5. Ensure continued training in the Kan Ban process and ensure procedures are adhered to.
  6. Ensure production activities operate within the requirements of both external certification and defined In-house procedures.
  7. Take responsibility for implementation of the Company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policy, in line with the requirements of appropriate external regulatory bodies and company codes of practice.
  8. Ensure that customer service levels are maintained to company targets.
  9. Maintain an efficient manufacturing service and achieves established KPI standards.
  10. Task the Production Lead employees to meet optimum manufacturing operation.
  11. Review yield performance and take appropriate action to ensure that optimum levels of performance is achieved.
  12. Regularly review Departmental Productivity Rates.
  13. Review processes and methods of working to ensure effective, safe and efficient operations of the production facility.
  14. Ensure that the entire workforce operates to the highest level of quality and safety as well as understand and follow internal control procedures and policies.
  15. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in accordance with Best In Class Operations (5s) policy and procedure.
  16. Manage and direct the Production Leads in their duties.
  17. Provide support to Q.C., Production, warehouse and Maintenance Staff through effective leadership and communication.
  18. Maintain an intimate knowledge and awareness of processes and equipment.
  19. Creates production employee development goals, plans and documents accordingly.
  20. Trains and maintains employee attendance, disciplinary records and training records.
  21. Prepares and presents performance reviews for all permanent and temporary production employees.
  22. Keeps production equipment operating by maintaining supplies and submitting work orders to maintenance for repairs.
  23. Purchase supplies and equipment needed for production operations
  24. Other duties as assigned.
Team Leaders and Production Process employees.

  1. High. Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and volume.
  2. Ability to perform complex analytical comparisons, solve algebraic calculations and understand and prepare scheduling and production reports.
  3. Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees, vendors, customers and other company contacts.
  4. Ability to understand and communicate precise technical and business information to members of senior management as well as subordinates.

Job Requirements

Required Education

Two-Year College degree in Business or related discipline (Four-Year degree preferred)

Required Experience

  1. Three (3) or more years in a Supervisory role in a manufacturing environment required (preferably in an industry related environment).
  2. Strong inventory management skills. Experience with Kan Ban a plus.
  3. Intermediate MS Office skills required (Word, Excel, Power Point).
