Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is a key member of the site Leadership Team reporting to the Production Manager. The role will focus on managing the day-to-day operation of the assigned work center, ensuring all manufacturing jobs and associated activities are completed safely in accordance with time, cost and quality requirements needed to meet customers’ and internal expectations. You will achieve this by working closely with shift leads and management to define ongoing safety, quality and productivity improvement targets. This role will supervise our electroforming, mixing, coating, metalizing, embossing, label press and editing departments at our Cranbury, NJ plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe manufacture of quality products utilizing the ITW Business Model.
  • Ensure operators, equipment and processes in assigned work cell conform to defined company safety, quality and security standards and legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and promote division and site safety initiatives. Lead by example and inspire the team in establishing a safety-first culture of reporting accidents/near misses, investigating incidents, identifying hazards and implementing control measures to prevent occurrences.
  • Supervise operators and daily manufacturing activities in assigned work cell to deliver on customer commitments/expectations while achieving monthly production targets of output, waste, cost control and machine utilization Implement and enhance standard operating procedures to drive consistency and promote collaboration to achieve an engaged workforce.
  • Lead and identify 5S and continuous improvement efforts in department with attention to employee involvement.
  • Partner with Quality team to ensure quality standards are met in assigned work cell. Implement adequate systems and controls to verify production is meeting expected standards on an ongoing basis. I dentify quality issues, ensure investigations are prompt and thorough, and that corrective action is taken as appropriate. Ensure non-conformities are continuously analyzed and preventative processes are instilled, and i dentify and ensure any preventative measures are actioned.
  • Ensure operators across work cell are performing to their full potential by adequately training, developing and motivating employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Other essential tasks and duties as assigned based on business need.

Job Requirements

Position Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related manufacturing or management discipline, such as mechanical, chemical, industrial engineering or business management with minimum 1 year of work experience in manufacturing leadership role, or equivalent combination of education and experience supervising in a related manufacturing environment. Understanding of holographic manufacturing is a plus.
  • Possess or qualify to receive Government Security Clearance to meet FSO and NASPO requirements.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Practitioner of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques and practices necessary to embrace ITW Toolbox and drive continuous improvement.
