Job Title: Production Supervisor

Reports to: Operations Manager

Role Summary:

The responsibility of this position is the internal day-to-day operation of the manufacturing department for the assigned shift. This position oversees production flow and ensures that necessary labor, material, or support is applied. Responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are being adhered to and overseeing all personnel in terms of staffing assignments and providing input to performance development reviews. Assist Mold Technicians with trouble shooting molding process problems, addressing quality issues, and implementing corrective actions.


Key Accountabilities:

●  Oversees production control activities, ensuring material flow through production in support of the production schedules to satisfy business goals and customer demands.

●  Monitor and track machine downtime / cavitation levels and make recommendations on methods of improvement.

●  Implement and administer all policies and procedures designed for the manufacturing area and assembly areas.

●   Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the manufacturing department.

●   Recommends training requirements, has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives.

●  Designs and develops programs and procedures to increase production in manufacturing.


Interactions Internal/External:

●  Internally interacts with all departments.

●  No External Communication.


Key Competencies:

●  Trouble shooting skills to assist mold technicians with process problems.

●  Problem solving skills by working with technicians and quality engineers in addressing quality problems to implement corrective actions.

●  Understand and adhere to TS 16949 / ISO 14001 procedures specific to department.


Education & Experience:

A.  Education:

●  Associate’s / Bachelor’s degree preferred.

B.  Experience in specific areas/functions/roles:

●   Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment.

●  Demonstrated ability to develop and lead a team.

●  Experience as an Injection Molding Technician preferred.


Physical Requirements:

●  Lift up to 50 lbs.

●  Able to sit and walk for long periods of time.

●  Use of a personal computer.
