Job Title: Production Manager, Hebron

Department: Production

Reports To: Plant Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

DIRECT REPORTS: 1ST shift machine operators, 1st shift material handlers, injection molding and automation technicians on all shifts, 2nd Shift Supervisor.

SUMMARY: Direct, coordinate, track, and maintain production activities of the business unit ensuring production objectives are met.


 Ensuring adequate numbers of properly trained personnel are present to meet production requirements.

o  Supervising and reviewing all assigned personnel.

o  Providing a safe and positive work environment for employees.

o  Maintaining timekeeping records and approving payroll hours each week.

o  Maintaining discipline, attendance, and appropriate behavior.

o  Interviewing, hiring, and training employees for their specific job functions; planning, assigning, and directing work activities; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


 Production operations including molding department, automation, material handling, and warehouse.

o  Reviewing applicable reports and setting priorities for production activities.

o  Ensuring that all production activities are recorded properly.

o  Scheduling equipment including presses, tooling and mold set-ups.

o  Scheduling Maintenance, including preventive maintenance, of appropriate machinery and equipment to meet production requirements.

o  Providing continuous improvement in job performance and quality of products produced.

o  Monitoring yield, scrap, and productivity; addressing variances to standards.

o  Monitoring production rates and submitting changes as needed to accurately reflect current processes and improvements to operation.

o  Facilitate the resolution of issues including, but not limited to productivity, quality, safety and cost savings.

o  Overseeing In-Process quality inspection and SPC.

o  Safety: Monitor safety issues and champion safety efforts

o  Manage and issue 1st shift shop orders. Close out when complete, reconciling with initial shop order and scanning documents into Webdocs.

o  Use BPCS to coordinate machine capacities with customer orders.

o  Track product rejects and champion process improvement efforts

o  Manage resource requirement reports (machine hours, operators) and capacity requirement planning per workstation

o  Schedule production for all 3 shifts


o  Minimum 7 years relevant production supervision experience, including supervision of hourly and technical personnel, preferably in multi-plant responsibility context

o  Technical coursework/certifications or relevant experience in injection molding and assembly. Ability to troubleshoot production machinery.

o  Demonstrated leadership capabilities

o  Ability to manage multiple production rooms as well as Shipping/Receiving

o  MRP system proficiency

o  MS Office experience and proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook

Job Requirements


·                 4-year degree in field related to business, quality, technical/engineering, or related degree

·                 Minimum 3 years of equivalent experience in customer service, procurement or manufacturing processes. 

·                 Ability to correspond effectively and professionally in spoken and written language with key A customer

·                 Ability to perform as a “player-coach”, multi-tasking hands-on responsibilities while managing direct reports

·                 Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

·                 Ability to solve practical manufacturing problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

·                 Knowledge of manufacturing software systems (MRP/ERP) and MS Office.
