Job Title: Production Control Coordinator
  Location: Machesney Park, IL
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports all activities related to production planning, scheduling, shipping, receiving, and inventory control for the Machesney Park, IL facility.
  • Reviews customer orders and coordinates with the production team to establish effective schedules and ensure appropriate personnel and materials are available to meet demands.
  • Creates Purchase Orders and coordinates the delivery of incoming material with suppliers to ensure requirements are met, while managing inventory levels and addressing shortage, or overstock situations.
  • Analyzes historical customer orders and external factors to appropriately forecast production materials required.
  • Analyzes inventory levels in conjunction with MRD and adjust accordingly.
  • Work with material suppliers to ensure requirements are met and aligned with production schedules and demands. Expedites parts and provides follow-up to ensure schedules are met.
  • Communicates with various functional teams within the facility, as well as at the warehouse to provide up to date information and resolve production processing issues.
  • Compile production information, inventory levels, and various production-related data to develop reports and analysis for managers and business leaders.
  • Analyze metrics to identify data trends and make strategic recommendations for continuous improvement of inventory control and production planning.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed for maintaining the inventory control system.
  • Coordination of all tasks to move material in a timely fashion.
  • Learn and utilize the ITW Toolbox and to conduct continuous improvement activities to improve the overall production process flow.
  • Collaborates with Supplier Development Manager to ensure suppliers are meeting requirements of services, costs, and quality.
  • Makes recommendations for process and efficiency improvements within production.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a lean manufacturing operation with proficient understanding of purchasing and inventory control preferred
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Advanced Computer Proficiency: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Highly analytical with proven success utilizing critical problem-solving skills and prioritization
  • Personally driven and motivates others to excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and make critical business decisions based on metrics
  • AS400 experience preferred, but not required
