Job Description

ITW Commercial Construction North America is seeking a Production Planner/Buyer to provide for the planning of production following MRD inventory fulfillment and establishment of inventory targets as well as timely procurement of manufacturing components to support manufacturing.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Direct and coordinate production planning and inventory levels based on market rate of demand (MRD). 
  • Help to establish targets for manufactured parts components.
  • Buy components to target levels, reviewing on hand versus target weekly and determining if reorder is needed.
  • Work with outside vendors to schedule production orders in a timely base to meet customers demand.
  • Work with suppliers to determine capacity required to fulfill inventory targets. 
  • Analyze inventories by working with the manufacturing facilities to determine how to reduce waste or optimize customer service. 
  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, and production. 
  • Controls and verifies accuracy of inventory by performing monthly inventory cycle counting. Adjust raw materials and finish good inventory
  • Work with operations management to standardize inventory target settings and adjustments. 
  • Assist with timely disposition of non-conforming materials, slow moving inventory, and/or invoicing discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related degree, required.
  • 3+ years minimum related experience, required.
  • APICS certification, preferred.
  • Experience working with a high-volume manufacturing operation.
  • Strong knowledge of demand management and replenishment principles and tools and the ability to execute such principles. 
  • Knowledge of Operations/Business system software and the ability to analyze data to support business requirements.
  • Requires less than 20% travel.
