Brooks Instrument is an industry leader in flow measurement and flow control products for critical applications, and a division of ITW (A Fortune 150 Company) is seeking candidates for a Product Marketing Manager. This highly visible position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia). In addition to our Hatfield, PA facility, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, France and Japan. The Company maintains sales offices throughout the world and its products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.

Basic Function

The Product Marketing Manager is considered the subject matter expert on design and manufacturing of Brooks Instrument Semi products. This role requires knowledge of Brook Instrument systems and processes to provide regular support to Brooks Customers, Sales, and Marketing organizations. The Product Specialist will work jointly with Semi BU Product Management, Sales, Applications, Customer Service, Engineering and Operations, to provide daily support to Brooks Semi Customers, and the Sales Team. The basic job function consists of driving results with an emphasis on maintaining high quality standards and profitability while meeting the timeliness expectations of Brooks customers. A key success factor will be utilizing organizational and program management skills and demonstrating the ability to work with members of cross-functional teams on a routine basis. The role will require a high sense of urgency, exceptional organizational ability, being effective at multi-tasking and maintaining a positive can-do attitude. This position reports to Semi Business Unit Manager.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
•Marginal position functions that are not included among the essential duties and responsibilities in this position description are also requirements of this position. 
  • Coordinate timely and accurate responses to customer and sales inquiries. Be a first level escalation for the Sales Team.
  • Provide detailed, accurate answers to customer driven questions including products and applications.
  • Ensure current product line information (for example delivery or lead-times changes) is efficiently disseminated.
  • Maintain visibility into key customer orders for new products, sales opportunities, new projects and new applications.
  • Be responsible for managing product line profitability. Maintain product costing information, to include completing pricing analysis, discounting analysis and margin analysis. Drive cost reduction initiatives to a successful completion
  • Translate customers’ needs and requests into specifications for viable Customer-backed innovation opportunities.  
  • Manage Customer Specials projects including plans, schedules, meetings, actions and status dashboards.  Ensure successful completion of Customer Special Requests and related Engineering Change Orders.  
  • Work closely with engineering, operations and quality to bring to market new products that meet customer's requirements.  Coordinate materials for and manufacturing of customer prototypes. Support Sales in customer qualification of new products.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders while assertively driving results of specified initiatives
  • Ensure Brooks products meet or exceed customer quality expectations, work with Brooks Organization to initiate and complete Corrective Actions where required. Participate in company continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities required for obtaining customer approvals for planned design or process changes.
  • Manage the Product Line Simplification (PLS) and / or End of Life (EOL) activities.
  • Generate regular market, customer and bookings reports.
  • Update and maintain marketing documentation and data sheets.  Provide sales support and training materials to enhance effectiveness of all selling activities.  Maintain product and training presentations.
  • Drive completion of regular competitive testing programs to benchmark product performance. Conduct side by side product and competitive comparisons and contribute to the creation of sales material to highlight Brooks strengths and competitive differentiation.
  • Work with Marcom to implement promotions in support of product strategies.
  • Regular attendance and other duties as assigned.
 
Education and Experience 
  • Bachelor's degree in either Engineering, Operations or Business preferred. Will consider a two-year technical degree with 5+ years of experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in working with Sales, Marketing and Customer facing organizations required.
  • Previous experience with manufacturing, business, ERP and documentation systems desired.
  • Previous experience in project and program management with cross functional projects required.
  • Previous Semiconductor or Industrial Technology Business Process background preferred.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • Excellent Financial aptitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills required.
  • Must have a can-do attitude, work at a fast pace, multitask, be flexible, and deal effectively with changing priorities.
  • Must be objective, collaborative in approach, assertive, and have ability to influence outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational skills are required.
