Position Summary:

As a key member of the Strategic Marketing team, the Product Manager reports directly to the Strategic Marketing Director and has global management responsibility for helping grow a defined product segment including marketing plan development and execution, product portfolio strategy and lifecycle management, pricing, innovation roadmaps and go-to-market strategies for new products.

The Product Manager serves as a member of the Hendersonville leadership team and has one direct report.  A successful Product Manager will work effectively with key cross functional disciplines – Sales, Engineering, Operations – to deliver value to the customer and ITW Dynatec. The Product Manager is able to effectively manage time, prioritize individual and direct report’s work load, handle multiple tasks without close supervision, and consistently meet deadlines.

This position will be based in our headquarters Hendersonville, TN. Relocation available. 25-30% domestic and international travel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute overall strategy for assigned product segment to grow ITW Dynatec market share and create sustainable brand and product differentiation. Contribute to Division long range and annual planning.

  1. Portfolio management: based upon customer-back insights, determine the optimal portfolio mix and pricing that minimizes customer complexity while improving portfolio profitability. Where needed create/optimize product value propositions.

  1. Customer Insights: collect and synthesize customer insights (VOC), expectations and competitive intelligence through customer interviews, market research and channel knowledge. Translate insights into actionable strategy as well as promote a customer first culture within Marketing team and broader ITW Dynatec organization.

  1. Innovation: leverage customer pain points and market knowledge to create an innovation roadmap, work with Engineering to define product requirements for new product development and drive successful commercialization of new products.

  1. Tracking and Analysis: regularly evaluate and report on product performance, marketing performance, market competition to management and relative departments. Partner with Operations and Sales to establish a consistent tracking process and metrics for key customer business reviews.

  1. Leadership: Promote ITW Dynatec strategic priorities within team and broader organization. Encourage entrepreneurial spirt and continued process improvement orientation. Holds self and others accountable for living the ITW culture and values.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred with focus on Strategy, Marketing, Business.
  • 4+ years relevant experience in Brand or Product Management within B2B industrial/technical or CPG industries
  • Marketing Strategy: Experience developing and marketing plans/business plans, product portfolio strategies and lifecycle management
  • Proven ability to analyze customer insights, company data, and market trends and translate to strategic actions
  • Strong business acumen and qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-level projects & cross-functional teams from start to completion
  • Ability to present and facilitate in front of groups
  • Adaptability: Adapts easily to change, performs calmly under pressure and works effectively in ambiguous environments
  • Stakeholder Management: establishes and maintains effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization including direct reports and demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude in working with people
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills: demonstrates good listening skills, communicates status on process with colleagues/management, and keeps team members informed
