Job Description

The ITW Residential & Renovation division is seeking a Product Manager to profitably grow responsible product groups by developing, implementing and driving marketing/business strategies and tactical action plans.  The Product Manager will act as the voice of customer using end user market research insights, customer POS, and macro market trends to effectively manage the product portfolio and drive new product development.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Manage the execution of the new product development roadmap to capitalize on key market opportunities.
  • Champion voice of customer with insights gained through end user and market research.
  • Use data driven information to develop product strategies and specifications.
  • Oversee the validation of performance and marketing features and benefits at each stage gate of new product development.
  • Lead new product rollout efforts including forecasting volumes, designing market tests, planning PK sessions and sales and channel training.
  • Develop and implement thorough price strategies and promotions to grow the business in these product areas.
  • Perform thorough competitive product analysis aimed at understanding the strengths and weaknesses of our competitor’s products.
  • Participate in capacity planning efforts working with manufacturing and engineering areas.
  • Manage the financial performance of assigned product categories by utilizing ITW toolbox philosophies and other key performance indicators.
  • Develop the annual integrated marketing plans for assigned product categories.
  • Capitalize on market opportunities within the product group areas.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of marketing experience preferred; new product development experience, from inception to product introduction and full product lifecycle management preferred
  • Experience with durable goods is preferred
  • Financial acumen to analyze financial results and new market opportunities is preferred
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word and Power Point are required.
  • The ability to travel approximately 20-35% is required.
  • Strong team/project management, communications, and presentation skill

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Employee must be able to be present and walk through an active construction site in various weather conditions. Be able to follow and use specific job site safety equipment and procedures.  Must be able to handle various company products such as fasteners, tools, anchors and adhesives while following proper safety guidelines established by the company.   Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
