Job Description

Manages a product line. Collects and synthesizes customer insights and competitive intelligence through customer interviews, market research, and channel knowledge. Develops product strategies, plans and roadmaps to grow the business. Actively manage a stage gate process. Improves product profitability through cost reductions. Launches and commercializes new products including training. Manages the product life cycle. Implements process improvements to reduce time to market. Contributes to long range and annual planning. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience. Reports to the Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities (80% Core Essential Functions)

 Marketing support for product development activities; interface with engineering.

 Product launch project management to include sales/service training—plan dates, logistics, web site content/development, product designator and logo, product collateral and management of launch budget.

 Involvement in annual product line simplification review

 Create/manage spec sheets, operator manuals, catalog, special requests and aids (i.e. videos, competitive sell sheets, POP/merchandising aids, etc.)

 Manage long-term product plans including step-up charts, waterfall charts, Product Requirement Documents (PRD).

 Product training content expert. Develops content along with Director of Marketing - Defines product training requirements and executes training as required.

 Work with Director of Marketing to ensure product development plan support brand strategies and customer needs.

 Achieve sales revenue growth targets as stated in annual plan

 Product liaison for Service organizations

 New product communication to field sales (e.g.: sales bulletins)

  Travel less than 25%

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business or engineering.


5+ years Industry experience. Minimum 5 years marketing, engineering and/or sales experience.
