Job Description

Our Product Engineering team is tasked with developing and maintaining innovative MIG welding products.  As a key member of our product engineering team, you will maintain, edit, change, and create product designs and prints to support engineering, manufacturing, and ultimately our customers.

Responsibilities:

•       Create/revise solid models and detailed CAD drawings

•       Support Engineers and Lab Technicians with all aspects of Documentation

•       Interact with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Materials personnel as required

•       Work with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers to make necessary design changes

•       Collect initial drawings, calculations and design ideas from engineers, and combine all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification

•       Create and process Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s).

•       Check engineering drawings and BOMs for accuracy

Job Requirements

Educational & Work Experience:

The candidate will have completed a post-secondary program in the field of Mechanical Design, including 5+ years of relevant experience in the following areas…

 

Skills:

•       Proficient user of SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or similar CAD software

•       Strong understanding of principles of design, particularly Design for Manufacturing and Assembly

•       Demonstrated project management and organizational skills

•       Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

•       Experience and familiarity with the following is considered an asset:

o   Design for machining and fabricating

o   Design Tolerancing, including GDT and tolerance stacking, for components and assemblies

o   Electrical system design

o   Use of Stagegate, Waterfall, or Agile product management processes

•       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) applications

Travel Expectation:  Must be available to travel in North America (up to 10%)
