Job Description

Responsible to implement production and processing methods and controls to meet customer-based quality standards. Utilizing statistical principles and ITW’s proprietary Toolbox kit, this position will ensure that the quality standards and processes are centered, capable and in control; reduce process variations; and resolve special causes variation through the application of process engineering fundamentals and advanced process control tools. This is a first shift position.

Process Related Functions

  • Understand process specifications and the effects on the finished product

  • Understanding of how the production equipment and material interact

  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and product related production issues

  • Knowledge of how our products are used and assist in troubleshooting customer related issues

  • Create, manage, and analyze operational metrics to understand reasons for non-conforming product and lead projects to improve product conformance

Quality Related Functions

  • Ability to create, manage, and continuously improve the quality systems to ensure ISO compliance

  • Work with the Troy, OH based quality team to understand overall direction and opportunities for integration with their quality systems

  • Manage customer complaints and implement corrective actions as necessary

  • Manage the overall content for the training program for Hobart Aluminum employees

  • Conduct final product and in process inspections/audits to ensure compliance to customer and Hobart standards

  • Ability to create and manage operational metrics related to in process product compliance to standard practice

  • Manage the calibration of equipment

  • Determine finished product testing needed to analyze performance against customer needs, competitor products, and industry standards

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline.
  • One to three (1-3) years of applied professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of project management and project engineering fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of advanced statistical tools used to reduce variations. Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Flexible, open-minded team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing and team environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
