Job Description

The Miller Electric Manufacturing Company, a leader in Welding Equipment Manufacturing, is seeking a highly motivated Precision Mechanic.

This individual will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing of automated and manual production equipment.

Duties will include but are not limited to: working on CNC Lathes, Sheet Metal Equipment and electronic component Insertion Machinery.

Job Requirements

• We would prefer a candidate that has an Electrical-Mechanical degree (AAS), and 5 years of experience in the field. However, other education and experience will be taken into consideration.• The qualified candidate must be able to troubleshoot complex machines • A thorough working knowledge, of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment systems, Experience maintaining and repairing these systems • Proven track record of attention to detail, good follow thru and effective resolution to problems • Requires the ability to work in a fast paced- high demanding environment • Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions • Self-starter and a team player • Able to communicate effectively, in a professional manner with customers. • Communicate using verbal and written skills in ways that honor diversity. • Practice safe work habits. • Knowledgeable in basic mathematical skills to calculate dimensions and verify measurements. • Able to read and interpret blueprints. • Understand the basic principles of hydraulics/pneumatics as to their impact on operation and maintenance involving machine tools. • The preferred candidate will have Machinist Background/ Understanding the operation of Machine shop equipment such as Milling Machine, Lathe, etc. Have knowledge of the different types of bearings, how they load and proper lubrication. • Experienced with rigging • Able to machine parts to industry standards of tolerance and finish. • Understanding of engineering materials and their application in the production of machined parts. • Able to measure work pieces with standard inch and metric graduated measuring tools using basic measuring techniques • Knowledge in mechanical power transmission • Belt Drives • Chain Drives • Gear Drives • Functional understanding of Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems. • Able to do basic welding operations. • Experienced with precision alignment. Ability to lift 50 lbs • Must have valid Driver’s License
