ITW Commercial Construction North America is seeking an Operations Director to provide strategic leadership for operational excellence across ITW Commercial Construction, North America. Directs the development of systems and processes which lead and execute best in class operational strategies that drive and support profitable growth in line with the ITW CCNA goals, Annual Plan and LRP.

ITW Commercial Construction encompasses the leading brands of Buildex® (Teks®, Tapcon®, Sammys®), Red Head (TruBolt®, Epcon®), and Ramset (Trakfast®) with an overall history dating back to 1910. Core Responsibilities:

  • Create, communicate and execute a vision for ITW Commercial Construction NA manufacturing that achieves both the strategic and annual plans in collaboration with direct reports and the CCNA Leadership Team.
  • Direct the development and implementation of policies and procedures that support these, including workforce requirements, capital expenditure requirements, plant, equipment and facilities replacement/expansion.
  • Manage operational financial performance to achieve goals set forth in the Annual Plan and LRP. Develop and control departmental budgets.
  • Profitably manage ITW Commercial Construction Manufacturing through direction of efforts around capacity requirements and efficiencies ensuring an emphasis on improving methods and quality, while controlling operational costs.
  • Ensures standards and controls are set for inventory levels, machine and labor efficiency, product quality, production scheduling and purchasing of raw materials for production.
  • Direct the efforts to ensure efficient material replenishment and flow of finished goods, components and raw materials at the highest quality and lowest cost.
  • Provide a world class supply management program including an efficient supply chain replenishment process of components (both purchased and manufactured) and finished goods in accordance with targeted inventory levels and on-time shipment requirements.
  • Identify, lead and develop talent in order to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in meeting company goals.  This may include selecting and on-boarding talent, communicating effectively to foster a culture of engagement, cascading vision, creating goal alignment; and coaching through feedback, development planning and performance.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree required; Engineering, or Operations preferred; Master or MBA degree preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, metal fabrication preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly identify and separate focus and activities that drive business results (80/20).
  • Demonstrated deployment of an efficient production footprint and execution in delivering product to the customer when and where they wish to purchase.
  • Demonstrated ability to reduce or eliminate complexity within operations.
  • Proven business results of improving operational performance in multiple locations
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience with a proven track record of developing talent
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Demonstrated competency in lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement tools
  • Working knowledge of local and federal governmental requirements (OSHA)
