The North America Sales Manager has primary responsibility for developing and leading NA Sales Team. He/she will drive growth by partnering with the ‘80’(Strategic) customers to understand their needs and effectively close sales. Build and execute strategic plans with channels/customers to position the Company for success over the long-range plan through growth of our ‘80’ (Top 20%) product lines with our ‘80’ (Top 20%) customers. He/she will focus on eliminating customer, order processing and other complexity within the channel to lead a growth focus. The North America Sales Manager will be based in Carol Stream, IL. He/she will report to the Global Sales Director of the Zip-Pak. This individual will have a team of 7 direct reports.


  • Build and lead a high performing and sustainable sales team by consistently evaluating team and sales relationships for resource planning, including ‘80’ focus, coaching and development of team members. Partner with Human Resources to recruit as needed to grow the business
  • Lead Zip-Pak’s business in all markets in the US, Canada and Mexico, to meet/exceed plan revenues and margins. Create and execute appropriate strategic plans to bring in new customers
  • Lead role in development of contract negotiations commercial strategy, pricing strategy, and customer presentations (pricing, performance, terms & conditions) for key opportunities
  • Develop and Build expertise in strategically leading sales in the ITW FTB 80/20 Business Model
  • Develops sales strategies, tactics and techniques based on the feedback of the customer and market environment.
  • Identify growth opportunities and work closely with Marketing and Innovation to set strategic direction of the business by market; formulate resources; plan, and execute for results
  • Create and develop personal relationships with key 80 customers that lead to customer-back innovation, and sustainable differentiation through products, services and collaboration
  • Work with peers to drive channel, brand and sales growth and margin improvements.
  • Utilize data analysis to achieve Sales Targets. Understand the competition’s business model, develop product benchmarks, determine the appropriate Company product offerings for the market and execute strategic business plan
  • Partner and work effectively with cross functional and cross divisional corporate management and support teams.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • At least 10 years of sales management experience, with concentration in commercial markets/channels
  • Proven business acumen with a strategic mindset
  • Packaging experience is a plus

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of time

  • Excellent communication skills (both internally, across VP/GM & directors, and externally with customer senior management), including professional presentation skills
