This position is located in Chippewa Falls, WI

Position Summary:

The Night Shift Lead – Deltar Fasteners reports to the Manufacturing Manager – Deltar Fasteners.  The major areas of responsibility for this position are:  Supervise manufacturing employees to ensure a smooth running shift while working alongside/with employees.  Provide technical support to manufacturing cells.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot/monitor manufacturing bottlenecks
  • Troubleshoot molding problems and assembly problems
  • Make machine adjustments, including heat, injection pressure, and cycle times for wide range of plastic engineering materials to ensure proper quality and function of parts
  • Ability to set up and adjust assembly equipment, auxiliary equipment, and robots to achieve proper assembly, product containment, and product packaging
  • Work from prints, specifications, and shop orders
  • Ensure part/material containment measures are implemented
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis of factors affecting overall product quality
  • Identify Continuous Improvement ideas associated within daily duties
  • Use personal computer, dial/digital calipers, gauges, hand tools, hand/power lift trucks, and overhead cranes
  • Insure safe working conditions, rules and practices are followed, and work with Cell personnel to ensure 5S activities are implemented and are being completed
  • Ongoing communication with General Techs (night shifts)
  • Review of the previous shift events with the appropriate Manufacturing Manager each AM

•         Successful completion of General Technician/Mold Technician Job Criteria/Mold Technician Training Course

•         Minimum 1 1/2 years of technical experience with plastic injection molding, along with hands on experience with raw materials, mold set-up, and troubleshooting skills for electric injection machines and auxiliary equipment.

•         Qualified candidate will possess good work ethics, is reliable, and dedicated to quality. Must enjoy a fast paced environment; be able to lift 55lbs.

•         Computer skills with Excel is a plus

•         Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (English); good visual skills and reasoning ability

•         Team player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization

  • Willingness to complete the Critical Core Competency courses through CVTC within 1 year
