Network Engineer - Troy OH

Reporting to the Supervisor of Networking and Telecommunications, the Network Engineer has responsibilities in supporting, maintaining, and configuring LAN/WAN and voice infrastructure for Hobart Service. As a Network Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for the technical research and development providing a reliable, responsive, and secure network environment. This individual ensures related procedures adhere to our organizational mission and vision, enabling associates, customers, and partners. Vendors supported include Cisco, Meraki, Hewlett Packard, ShoreTel/Mitel, Palo Alto, Five9, among others. Technologies supported include MPLS, SDWAN, SIP, IPS/IDS, web filtering, next gen firewalls, among others.
Responsibilities
  • Provide tier 2 and 3 support for LAN/WAN/Voice infrastructure and systems
  • Architect, design, document, and maintain LAN/WAN/Voice configurations
  • Develop documentation, training tools, and knowledge bases for issues and remediation steps
  • Keep up with industry trends and innovations to evaluate and recommend possible improvements to the network and telecommunications infrastructure
  • Secondary role in network security managing and maintaining systems such as firewall, IDS/IPS, and web filter administration
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation consisting of 2-4 weeks’ availability per year
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualification and Education Required
  • Associate’s degree in MIS/CS or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience managing, maintaining, and supporting multi-site LAN/WAN configurations
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral; strong interpersonal skills required to communicate with all other team members, and company associates; must have customer service attitude and ability to work well with groups and independently
  • Strong organizational skills, capability to coordinate multiple activities in results-oriented environment; initiative and ability to enforce policies and procedures through influence
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned systems, making informed architecture decisions based on facts, trends, and industry research
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS/CS or related field
  • Certifications: CCNA, Network+, ITIL Foundations
  • Experience supporting Cisco and Cisco Meraki routers, switches, and access points
  • Proficiency with the use of packet capture and protocol analysis tools and techniques
  • Intermediate experience managing firewall, IDS/IPS, and web filtering services, preferably Palo Alto
  • Experience supporting cloud contact centers
