Job Description

The National Sales Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of the all sales activities in the Retail Channel.  The retail sales channel includes sales to national big box accounts including Home Depot, Lowe’s, Rona, and Kent as primary examples.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the day to day account merchandising and communication needs; such as in-store visits, POP ordering and coordination, execution of store planograms and promotional activities.
  • Coordinate and execute pro shows, demo days and attend key trade shows as required.
  • Assist the National Account Manager for Retail sales calls and PLR’s as needed.  This can include sending product samples, performing sales analytics and preparing PowerPoint presentations.
  • Support the head office strategic sales activities as coordinated by National Account Manager.
  • Supports competitive landscape and competitive price analysis through the gathering of data from the Retail channels including regular review of sales flyers.
  • Gather and compile raw point of sales (POS) data and prepare standardized reports for analysis.
  • Work with the product marketing team to ensure timely and accurate new SKU set up sheets.
  • Work with the National Account Manager to ensure the sales forecast is in line with customer requirements.
  • Act as a key point of contact for day to day customer issues of national accounts in the Retail channel and work with National Account Manager to develop timely, effective solutions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Business Administration Degree or comparable discipline; a major in marketing preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management work, either University or work experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, MSWord and Outlook.  Experience with database data analysis a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills; strong communication skills both written and verbal – bilingualism is an asset
  • Results driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities with highly effective follow through skills; Professional networking/relationship building skills
  • Planning & Organizational; ability to present to small informal groups as well as large groups; conceptual aptitude.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to support the need to work cross functional with various inter-department managers.

Work Environment

The National Sales Coordinator normally performs the duties of this position within typical office type working conditions.

Physical Demands

The position of National Sales Coordinator incurs minimal to moderate physical stress due to lifting of boxes and/or trade show materials, minimal discomfort or risk of accident or ill-health. Duties can require concentrated levels of focus and attention. This position requires the incumbent on occasion to travel outside the office to support customer visits, participate in trade shows and conduct end user survey/focus group work.
