Job Description

ITW Residential & Renovation division is seeking a National Account Manager to develop, manage and lead the implementation of sales strategies and programs to grow sales and market share of GRK, Tapcon, Ramset and our portfolio of premium branded fastening products. The National Account Manager manages revenue of direct national distribution customers and builds relationships with our top three largest lumberyards, pulling through sales from their preferred distribution.  This position may be based in the Midwestern or Eastern United States.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Identify and develop high, deep, and wide relationships with key decision makers and influencers at assigned accounts to develop in-depth understanding of the customers’ businesses.
  • Ensures coordination of strategic account selling plans by actively collaborating with internal functions such as marketing, distribution, supply chain, and finance.
  • Lead development of situation assessment/analysis during Product Line Reviews of products categories at accounts, including mapping competitive landscape, product mix, end user base, profitability (ITW and customer), and pricing.  
  • Use knowledge and analysis to develop account specific strategies to place and grow ITW products at assigned accounts. Uses sales data to outlook sales on a monthly and quarterly basis for existing accounts and drives programs to meet sales goals.
  • Present strategic plans to accounts, gain commitment and implement strategies/tactics to drive sales plans.
  • Own the relationship with top 3 lumberyards and coordinate strategies through their preferred distribution channels utilizing the LBM distribution sales team for execution.
    • Provide direction to sales reps on how to actively sell and win business at individual lumberyard locations.
    • Coordinate the implementation of new product placement, promotions, pricing to grow placement & sales.
  • Act as internal connector and collaborate with internal resources to ensure alignment of plans.
  • Work with direct lumberyard sales team and manage manufacturer reps to ensure attainment of objectives and sales goals.
  • Utilize manufacturer reps for customer maintenance (reporting, sku setup, promotions, training, etc.) and coordination and attendance of customer sponsored trade shows to drive and grow ITW business and strategies.
  • Bachelor degree required
  • At least 5 years of selling experience with a proven record of success, retail account sales experience preferred
  • Proven ability to influence customers
  • Ability to Mentor sales reps
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Travel (up to 50%) required

 Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical office working conditions.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment (office) is usually low, but much higher when exposed to the manufacturing areas.  Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms and regularly required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.  Position requires approximately 25% travel.
