Job Description

Position at ITW Permatex Permatex, AAM Engine Repair Division of Illinois Tool Works; is a leading manufacturer, distributor, and marketer of premium chemical products to the automotive maintenance and repair, home and hardware markets. Core brands include: Permatex®, Fast Orange®, Spray Nine®, and Devcon Home®. We currently seek a National Account Manager (Automotive Distributor Segment) to join our Traditional Sales Team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all A account and agency matters within assigned segment
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision makers at assigned A accounts and agencies within segment
  • Become the expert on assigned segment and key accounts
  • Know our customer and theirs
  • Develop and execute segment specific programs that align with Engine Repair growth levers and create pull through of our A products, with our A accounts
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts and customer stakeholders
  • Provide analysis on monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop new business with A Accounts and/or identify areas of improvement to exceed growth expectations
  • Forecast, track and analyze key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  • Prepare reports on A account statuses and overall market segment performance.
  • Compare Permatex’s segment growth vs external CAGR
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing team to identify and grow opportunities within segment
  • Represent Engine Repair at events and tradeshows
  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
  • Apply the ITW Enterprise Strategy to your segment and leverage the playbook to grow revenues and margins
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field
  • Goal-oriented, proactive, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Proven success in a sales, marketing, or other customer-facing role
  • Experience in the Automotive Aftermarket Wholesale Distribution Channel preferred
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders
  • Proficient with MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail, and delivering results on schedule
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Travel 50-60%
