Job Summary 

The position will be based in our headquarters Hendersonville, TN. 15 miles northeast of downtown Nashville. As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be a critical member of our Engineering Team to continuously improve existing equipment designs, customize to meet customer needs, and ensure world-class quality of our equipment by providing manufacturing drawings, bills of material and technical guidance to assembly crew at various global locations. This position will require frequent and effective communication with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and other members of the Global Engineering Department. No relocation available

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive a culture of Safety, Wellness and ITW’s Core Values, ensuring proactive practices.
  • Develop product designs using computer assisted design/drafting software in 2D and 3D environments.
  • Create and revise manufacturing drawings based on application requirements, optimization, and ease of manufacturing.
  • Develop Bills of Materials for products and enter into ERP system to drive procurement demand.
  • Provide technical guidance to other departments such as supply chain, quality, technical services in variety of initiatives.
  • Engage in vendor issue resolutions and new vendor development activities to develop technical qualification plans.
  • Ensuring world-class quality for products by proactively engaging in technical documentation and manufacturing process quality assessments independently and as part of cross functional teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in product design and manufacturing drawing development
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
  • In depth understanding of manufacturing level drawings, drafting and dimensioning best practices, including GD&T and tolerance stack up.
  • General understanding of industrial equipment design, safety aspects and functional expectations
  • Detail oriented and results driven
  • Experience working with quality 8D process preferred
