Description/Job Summary

The material handler position is responsible for keeping raw material and work in process moving within the plant to ensure product is manufactured in an efficient manner.  This requires unloading and loading trucks, checking in and labeling material, putting material to designated areas, bringing material to and from manufacturing lines and transferring WIP tubs to various departments.

  •  Load and unload trucks.
  • Follow-through on daily manufacturing expedites.
  • Start of shift do daily checks on fork trucks.
  • Operation of fork truck.
  • Ability to read and understand shop traveler.
  • Use computer to create labels for raw material.
  • Hand in paperwork proper area.
  • Organize steel inventory
  • Understand and follow first in-first out process
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Other duties as instructed.

    • Noise level Loud Hearing protection is required in this area.
    • Safety shoes due to the handling of heavy material.
    • Continuous movement of material results in hectic, cluttered conditions.
    • Operations of fork trucks in high traffic pedestrian areas require extreme caution and attention to detail.
    • This job requires standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. Use of a hand cart on boxes over 50 lbs.

Required Qualifications

Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must have good organizational skills and be able to work on more than one task at a time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must have good mathematical skills.
Must be able to obtain fork truck Certification through ITW Bee Leitzke.
