Role Summary:

The Material Handler will maintain their area of responsibility in a neat, organized manner and ensure that the products are stored and transported to the point of use in a safe, timely, efficient and chronologically correct manner. The role also involves following all business and safety guidelines and assist as needed in other areas of business such as mixing materials, troubleshooting, minor repairs, etc.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Make material / color changes in a timely manner, to include leaving the workstation clean and organized.
  • Maintain a proper flow of material to be used in the plastic injection molding process i.e.: raw materials
  • Ensure product is stored and utilized in FIFO mode.
  • Perform problem-solving techniques in evaluating material vacuum/drying system problems.
  • Move and wrap finished product when so directed.
  • Document lot control where required.
  • Removes any old labels from gaylords, boxes and totes.
  • Maintain proper rotation of raw material/components.
  • Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it to a predetermined area to ensure timely and complete delivery
  • Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, trucks, lifting devices or other transport vehicles
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and recharging batteries
  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials,
  • Perform safety inspections, and maintain production and work records in Forklift Manual daily
  • Follows all safety guidelines
  • Any and all tasks assigned.

Job Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required; experience working with different raw materials strongly preferred.
  • Legible penmanship, including excellent communications skills both verbal and written, along with good organizational skills required
  • Ability to work safely and independently with little supervision required
  • Must have a basic knowledge of a machine operator
  • Must be flexible and willing to train on different aspects of the job
  • Must be able to safely operate/drive a forklift.  Certification or license strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when available
