Basic Description:

The role of the Material Coordinator requires a leader that can drive change in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate will leverage his/her strong interpersonal skills to lead, coordinate, and support supply chain activities for the TIG System Solutions Division. This individual will be responsible for supply chain activities to include continual involvement with our supplier and manufacturing teams, as well as properly collaborating with and executing the ITW Welding strategies.

Essential Functions

  • Activities related to procurement, storage, and shipment of raw materials
  • Leading cost, quality, delivery, productivity, and simplification activities
  • Manage material price variance, inventory turns, and site cost reduction programs
  • Responsible for maintaining MOH goals as well as limiting non-active inventory classification
  • Lead the execution of ECO's
  • Forecast quarterly raw material demand
  • Develop and manage material technicians and material handlers, and seek out areas for simplification
  • Daily interaction with manufacturing and engineering teams
  • Adherence to and implementation of all ITW Toolbox (Product Line Simplification, In-Lining, Market Rate of Demand, and Understand, Simplify, act)
  • Actively engage in New Product Development Process activities
  • Responsible for raw materials when transitioning from an existing product to a new product

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations/Supply Chain/Business Management required
  • Ideally at least 1-2 years previous experience in effective supplier management (i.e. negotiation, delivery, quality)
  • Thorough knowledge of materials function and understanding of value propositions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment - self starter, conscientious, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated competency in prioritization and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in negotiation and communication
  • Ability to embrace, build, and promote a team environment
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Familiarity with global sourcing and currency exchange changes/fluctuations, preferred
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft office)
  • Up to 10% travel
