Job Description:

The role of Material Coordinator requires a leader that can drive change in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will lead, coordinate, and support supply chain activities for the MIG Gun Division. The individual will be responsible for supply chain activities to include continual improvement with our suppliers and manufacturing teams, as well as properly collaborating with and executing the ITW Welding Group Companies' strategies.



•        Developing collaborative versus transactional relationships with key vendors.  Ensuring any concerns are addressed with a plan for a solution by implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

•        Activities related to procurement, storage, and shipment of raw materials.

•        Evaluating supplier OTD and ensuring vendors scheduling support the needs of production to minimize backlog.

•        Maintain healthy inventory levels based on ITW’s MRD guidelines.  Responsible for managing and maintaining MRD with vendors.  Communicate MRD adjustments to suppliers based upon expected material requirements.

•        Leads the MRD team process and ensures it is being followed. Ensuring any concerns are addressed with a plan for a solution by implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

•        Responsible for maintaining inventory goals as well as limiting the Slow and Obsolete inventory.  Analyze monthly SLOB inventory and implement improvement initiatives to reduce.

•        Learn and utilize multiple screens in ERP system, as required

•        Collaborate with cross functional teams such as operations, product management and engineering to maximize efforts in ITW toolbox towards Product Line Simplification.

•        Seek and recommend ways to improve department methods and procedures to increase overall efficiency. 

•        Ensure data integrity and records are up to date within EPR system.  Managing the execution of engineering change requests in a timely manner.

•        Responsible for raw material disposition when transitioning from an existing product to new product.

•        Backup and support material technician role when needed

•        Daily interaction with production staff

•        Collaborate with quality to ensure ISO 9001 conformance relating to materials and inventory.

Any other duties assigned by Supply Chain Manager 

Job Requirements

Qualifying Requirements

•        This person must have a solid background in materials and inventory control that can be transferred to support and improve the strategy of the business.

•        3+ years experience with materials movement, planning, inventory control, OTD and quality metrics reporting

•        Time management and ability to flex work schedule to satisfy customers.

•        Must be a self-starter, conscientious, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude

•        High attention to detail

•        Proficient in manipulating, analyzing, and prioritizing several streams of data

•        Mid-level computer and Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)

•        Proficient in multi-tasking, organizing and prioritizing tasks / projects

•        Ability to interact with all levels of management and work teams.

Preferred Requirements

•        Associate degree in Operations/Supply Chain Management

•        5+ years of industrial manufacturing experience as it relates to supply chain functions

•        Proficient in using the ERP systems for the business (ie. Dataflow)

•        A high degree of understanding of the ITW Toolbox principles.

•        Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to prepare reports, presentations, and analyses
