Basic Description:

The Marketing Specialist will participate and support the analysis, development and implementation of marketing strategies to achieve profitable revenue growth. This individual will work closely with the both TIG and Commercial Solutions Division marketing teams on developing and executing marketing and product management initiatives for existing and new products.

Essential Functions:

  • With the assistance of Product Managers, develop product launch and sales support materials, including print, web, digital and social content
  • Assist in the development of marketing communication plans targeted at end user markets
  • Serve as a key contact for outside creative agency of record; responsible for project planning documents, editing/review support
  • Participate in collaborative go-to-market efforts (i.e. trade show planning, social media and newsletter content, best practice sharing) for both Miller and Hobart Welding Products brands
  • Support customer back innovation work including: problem definition creation, survey development, and customer interview questionnaires
  • Contact end users and sales reps to setup field visits for voice of customer research
  • Compile and analyze data from various market research projects
  • Execute promotional campaigns and track, analyze and report out results
  • Assemble training presentations for both distribution channels and internal sales force •Review and update marketing infrastructure systems including database system, extranet, sales team communication tools, and customer facing websites
  • Assist marketing teams with competitive analysis, product and market landscapes and value proposition creation
  • Support industry trade shows

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience
  • Technical aptitude & mechanically inclined. Understanding of welding process, a plus
  • Strong business acumen, well organized, aggressive self-starter with the willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to build relationships among employees, distributors, and key end-users
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting and facilitating before groups
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-moving environment that values an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and the knowledge to perform both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Proven ability to analyze current business issues, customer needs and formulate marketing strategies
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation and solid decision-making abilities
  • Must possess a high level of creativity
  • Desire to take initiative and high energy to see projects through completion
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • or similar CRM system experience desired
  • up to 20% travel
