Title: Marketing Communications (MARCOM) Associate ITW Global Brands (ITWGB)

Reports to: Senior MARCOM Manager, ITWGB

Location: Houston, TX


The MARCOM Associate will support the development and implementation of successful account-specific marketing activities for key accounts (Walmart, AutoZone, Dollar General, Target, Home Depot, etc.) for all retail brands (Rain-X, Gumout, Black Magic, Fix-A-Flat, Slime, Permatex, Spray Nine & Fast Orange) within the ITW Global Brands U.S.-based retail channels. S/He will have knowledge of the retail marketplace to best leverage the MARCOM Toolbox (digital, social, eCRM, coupons, rebates, merchandising, grassroots, customer marketing integration, training, point-of-purchase materials, etc.)  Contributes to the MARCOM team’s goal to drive organic growth and sustainable differentiation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Work with the Senior MARCOM Managers to develop marketing programs to drive sales and profits at retailers.
  2. Develops, implements and tracks the performance of account-specific marketing activities for key accounts for ITW Global Brands retail brands.
  3. Manage Brand specific e-CRM program.
  4. Develop cross promotions and merchandising programs across all three lines of business: Car Care, Engine Repair, and Global Tire Repair.
  5. Assist in consulting with and supporting our highest-performing accounts. 
  6. Maintain budgets for account marketing programs and special projects as assigned.
  7. Develop annual promotional calendar for accounts as assigned.
  8. Work closely with Brand and Sales to support the successful sell-in of new items.
  9. Work with Category Management, New Product Development (NPD) and Sales to develop and maintain competitive promotional analysis.
  10. Develop an understanding of the brand portfolios, competition and key competitive edges.
  11. Provide input to sales for line reviews.
  12. Maintain strong working relationship with Sales, Brand, NPD, supply chain, finance and outside suppliers.
  13. Perform analysis of proposed displays to determine revenue and variable margin targets.  In addition, performs a post-analysis of promotions and displays to determine the success or failure, as well as future viability.
  14. Maintain and analyze the monthly display activity and COGs reports.
  15. Maintain monthly promotional deck across specific accounts and all three business units.
  16. Ensure all customer/promotional messages are consistent with brand strategy and delivers against consumer/customer insights.


  1. 4-year undergraduate degree in a Marketing or Sales discipline.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in a Marketing role.
  3. Self-motivated with ability to hit deadlines.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  5. Excellent project manager, able to handle many activities and manage details that can help drive sales growth.
  6. Clear understanding of general marketing principles.
  7. Analytical skills.
  8. Excellent organizational skills & strong attention to detail.
  9. Excellent Presentation Skills.
  10. Proven skills in building relationships & collaboration.
  11. Customer focused with ability to objectively assess opportunities and fit with customer’s needs.
  12. Working knowledge of basic financial principles.
  13. Must be able to travel up to 10% of time.
