Job Description

We are looking for a professional with aspirations to lead and develop within a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting. This individual will be responsible for facilitating quality programs along with implementing manufacturing and facility improvements for the MIG Gun Division (MGD). The ideal candidate will be an engaged problem solver, have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and have a basic understanding of lean manufacturing. 


Areas of Quality Focus Include:


• Lead the Corrective Action Response (CAR) process for all internal/external instances of non-conforming product including ensuring approval from engineering for deviations.


• Work internally with customer service, engineering, product management, procurement and externally with suppliers to document root cause and short/long term action(s) relating to product non-conformance.


• Working with the Supply Chain Manager, manage overall supplier quality programs driving best practices throughout the supply base.


• Maintain the ISO-9001:2015 quality system documentation and address internal/external audit results/action items in a team environment.


• Maintain calibration of all measuring devices used by the production team and engineering.


• Support active Employee Involvement (EI) projects taking a proactive approach towards continuous improvement efforts utilizing ITW Toolbox principles.


• Quality support of new product launches including Quality Operating Procedures (QOP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for components/raw materials and gauging calibration.


• Work with Windsor Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to leverage capabilities and resources where possible.
Areas of Manufacturing/Facility Focus Include:


• Improve manufacturing safety and efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.


• Ensure environmental regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local requirements.


• Develop/improve manufacturing processes by studying production requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. 


• Coordinate equipment and facility preventative maintenance programs.


• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.


• Manufacturing support of new product launches including tooling documentation, work instruction creation, and gauging implementation.


• Assist with capital procurement projects within the division.

Job Requirements


•        Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience



•        Ability to work well independently and in a team setting, particularly as part of a cross functional team.



•        Proven project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize projects.



•        Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability



•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills



•        Strong computer skills including MS Office, SolidWorks and Solid Edge CAD software preferred.



•        Willing to travel (10%) primarily domestic and occasionally internationally.
