Manufacturing Engineer

Illinois Tool Works (ITW) is a Fortune 200 diversified manufacturing company with eight decentralized business segments, which includes Food Equipment. The Warewash Business Division, one of the groups in the Food Equipment Group, is seeking a dynamic Engineer to join its rapidly expanding Danville, Kentucky location.

The Warewash Division (Stationary Warewashing) aggressively and successfully is expanding its presence in existing served markets as well as new markets and desires a Manufacturing/Process Engineer talent to support this growth. The Stationary Business Division produces Hobart brand commercial dishwashers that are used in restaurant and retail applications. The selected candidate will assist an Operations Manager at the Warewash Hobart Danville Plant.

Minimum Qualifications:

● BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent experience

● 1+ years engineering process related experience

● Effective oral, interpersonal and written communication

● Applicable computer skills, to include Microsoft Office/Tools, Pro/E, CATIA or AutoCAD

● Adaptable, flexible, innovative, problem solving skills, sense of urgency, listening skills, and organized

● Task planning skills

● Experience with lean manufacturing

● Proven documentation, organizational skills and attentive to details

● Self-directed

● Up to 25% Travel (approximately)

● Lifting up to 35 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

● 3+ years engineering process related experience

● Fabrication of stainless steel sheet metal

Scope: Assist with design and development of tasks to achieve departmental and business unit goals.

Responsibilities (80% Core Essential Functions):

One or more of the following as required by the Business Unit:

● Develop and coordinate tasks as assigned as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross-functional team

● Create and develop engineering project documentation, i.e. bill of materials and drawings

● Assist in producing prototypes

● Troubleshoot, analyze, and assist in the resolution of engineering issues

● Support product release plans as assigned

● Coordinate the engineering activities in the Business, i.e. tooling, maintenance of equipment, workstation instructions, job simplifications and enhancements

● Utilize appropriate troubleshooting and analysis techniques to evaluate and correct problems

● Assist in the development and continual improvement of the products including customer interaction

● Investigate machines and equipment as to versatility and diversification of product features, prices and other conditions

● Responsible for manufacturing equipment

● Directing team activities and daily production task
