Title:    Manufacturing Engineer

Department:  Operations

Reports to:  Plant Manager

Compensation:  Exempt

Position Summary:

ITW Manufacturing Engineering supports manufacturing and process improvements for products for the automotive market.

Core Responsibilities:

●  Lead manufacturing documentation and improvements.

●  Support manufacturing and automation projects, machine builds, and new product development.

●  Works with Manufacturing and Automation personnel to improve safety, ergonomic, quality and efficiencies on production floor.

●  Troubleshoot automated assembly equipment for continuous improvement.

●  Serves as the voice of manufacturing during new product development by providing guidance as to manufacturing feasibility (design for manufacturability)

●  Supports APQP process to meet ISO and IATF certification requirements.

●  Seek Continuous Improvement Opportunities through system/process/equipment improvements

●  Assist with problem solving/root cause analysis and implements corrective actions

●  Work with employees to insure proper and efficient operation of assembly/automation equipment and material flow

●  Support the initiation of production launches of newly awarded business through preparation and processing of documentation through product launch to end of life

●  Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.

●  Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards

●  Develop innovative solutions

●  Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process.

●  Provide suggestions during incident investigations

●  Help drive safety and PPE procedures/policies

●  Ensure that all ITW guidelines are followed and safety work practices are enforced.

●  Follows all procedures as outlined by ISO 9001, OSHA and IATF 16949.

●  Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


●  Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university focused in Industrial, Plastics, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Preferred

●  Five years’ (5+) experience in related positions

●  Knowledge and application of design, engineering and technology, computers and electronics, technology design, and problem solving

●  Proficiency in AutoCAD and /or SolidWorks CADD software

●  Experience with Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma Tools, Lean Manufacturing, Automation, and Capital Project a plus
