Manufacturing Engineer

Illinois Tool Works (ITW) is a Fortune 200 diversified manufacturing company with decentralized business segments, including Food Equipment Group. The Warewash Business Division is one of the groups in the Food Equipment Group and is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its manufacturing facility in Troy, Ohio.

The Warewash Division wants to expand its presence in existing served markets as well as new markets and desires manufacturing engineering talent to support this growth. The Warewash Business Division produces Hobart brand commercial dishwashers that are used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, health care, cruise ships, schools and universities and retail. We are in search of a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to be part of our team.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for   working with the Design Department to timely and effectively introduce new products or product enhancements or changes; investigating and implementing advanced manufacturing methods and technologies; and leading development and implementation of continuous improvement and world class lean manufacturing practices utilizing the ITW Toolbox. 

Job Requirements

We seek candidates with three or more years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.  The successful candidate would possess a Bachelor Degree in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering; problem solving skills, detailed oriented, effective oral and written communication skills. Experience with welding processes of stainless steel and/or supervisory experience a plus.

 The minimum qualifications are:

  • BS Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or operations experience
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting engineering documentation, i.e. drawings
  • Understanding and implementation of electro-mechanical final assembly processes   
  • MS Office Suite application proficiency
  • Proficient use of Cadam application(s), i.e. Pro E., AutoCAD
  • Experience with using an ERP manufacturing system and database
  • Understanding use of lean manufacturing analysis techniques and implementation

Preferred qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of sheet metal fabrication and/or welding
