Description/Job Summary

The Opportunity
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will collaborate and support the engineering team here at Avery Weigh-Tronix. This individual will work closely with the engineering team to help with the creation of automating processes in the business. This position will be located in Fairmont, Minnesota and last a duration of approximately 3 months.

Essential Functions

  • Research, design and submit recommendations for turnkey process automation
  • Create documentation of the approved automation processes
  • Design automation process of current systems, ex: assembly or forklift transducer wiring
  • Assist the engineering team with various every day responsibilities
  • Other duties possibly assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working toward bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Strong desire to solve problems and overcome challenges related to process development, production equipment, maintenance and project management
  • Experience and knowledge in TPM, lean management or equivalent.
  • Experience with applications of design, engineering and technology, computers and electronics and technology design
  • Experience in Autodesk AutoCad, Inventor and Visio preferred  
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
