Internship Detail

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team for the summer of 2018.

The position holder will work directly with our Engineering Support team and he/she will be involved in tool box projects that are tailored to the qualified candidate’s specific skills and field of study. This role will interface, on a daily basis, with the Loma Systems management and professionals from various departments.

Core responsibilities include the development of smart code, bill of materials and documentation to support fast processing of standard solutions assembled in our Carol Stream manufacturing facility. This will cover QuickShip Conveyors, Pipeline Systems, Pharmaceutical, and Waferthin Metal Detectors and X-ray Complete Systems with reject conveyors. Working with The Customer Relationship Manager, Engineering and Operations, the projects’ objective is to develop adequate tools that will work with the current manufacturing database and future ERP system.

This internship is approximately 40 hours per week for 12 weeks, with flexible start and end dates within the range of May-September 2018.  

Job Requirements

  • College junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor level degree program in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing/Operations)

  • GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize work

  • Quick learner – i.e. ability to learn new software and understand directions

  • Reliable/dependable – shows up to work on time and is committed to timely completion of assignments

  • Self-motivated team member with proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with MS Office Products (Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)
