Job Description

Hobart Food Machines, a division of ITW Food Equipment Group, an Illinois Tool Works Fortune 200 business, is a recognized leader among commercial food equipment worldwide. We are seeking a Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineer that can support manufacturing activities in the Hillsboro, Ohio production facility.


  • Planning and designing manufacturing processes in an assembly environment.
  • Actively improves production standards, calculates manufacturing capacity, and designs and implements production line layouts, assembly fixtures and gauges, etc.
  • Leads lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for maintaining cycle times and performing time studies of assemblies and finished goods products, support and facilitate product audits and help troubleshoot assembly issues
  • Create & maintain manufacturing work instructions
  • Effectively interface with diverse internal and external customers
  • Maintains safe working environment and housekeeping practices

Job Requirements


  Bachelors’ Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

  5 or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field

  Strong project management skills and ability to see projects through all phases to completion; PMP certification or training a plus

  Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement

  Mechanical-electrical aptitude and basic machine and hand tool experience

  Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  Proficient use of software such as MS office and mechanical design tools such as SolidWorks

  Strong attention to detail and acute sense of logic

Other Requirements / Working Conditions

  Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer and will not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future

  You will work in a team-oriented office and manufacturing environment

  Limited travel (up to 10%) will be required
