Position Summary:

The Intern Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor here at ITW Deltar Fasteners and will be responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of injection molding machines, assembly and other automated equipment.  This position will be offered to anyone that is currently enrolled in either an Electromechanical or Industrial mechanic course at CVTC.

Location: Chippewa Falls, WI

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Learn to work with blueprints, schematics, SOP's and machine manuals
  • Learn to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a variety of molding and automated machinery using available technology
  • Operate drill press, grinder, welding and other maintenance equipment to fabricate or repair parts
  • Learn to troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic powered, electronically controlled robotic systems
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and electrical testing instruments associated with a manufacturing setting
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance functions 
  • Ability to maintain computer based machine repair and PM records system
  • Comply with OSHA and all safety practices in repair and installation
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition

Job Requirements

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

•         High School Diploma or equivalent

•         Needs to be enrolled in either an Electromechanical Technology or Industrial mechanic course.

•         Computer experience – working knowledge of Excel, Word

•         Ability to keep accurate records

•         Proven communication skills, both written and verbal

•         Ability to work effectively in participative management environment as well as ability to work with little or no supervision

•         Ability to lift 55 lbs.

•         Experience with part discrepancy vision systems a plus
