Job Description



ITW Specialty Films Division (Cranbury, NJ site) is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to perform repair and maintenance to machinery/mechanical equipment/production machines. This role will support cost savings initiatives, process improvement and efficiency gain.

ITW Specialty Films designs, manufactures and markets specialized coated and/or metalized films for the Transaction Card, Security Documents and Medical IV bags markets. The division leverages unique core competencies and technologies in films, foils, laminates, holography and transfers to address customer needs globally. Operates in 5 locations (NA & EU).

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician II works independently, with engineering and other maintenance/plant personnel to perform preventative and routine maintenance tasks.  The technician will troubleshoot equipment issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks are performed while supporting the safety policies, financial goals, and objectives of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, coating equipment, slitters, compressed air systems, pumps and facilities equipment/infrastructure
  • Provides general preventative maintenance of HVAC systems equipment (non-coolant applications)
  • Provides general electrical repair/maintenance and installation electronic controls/equipment
  • Performs electrical shutdown/startup of low to medium voltage equipment
  • Performs preventative maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on all production and facilities equipment
  • Participates in plant safety and continuous improvement programs
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed
  • Purchasing of replacement and repair parts to rebuild/repair equipment in a timely manner within budgetary constraints.


Job Requirements


SKILLS and Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED. Post-secondary education in HVAC, electronics or industrial mechanics preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics troubleshooting and repair.  Experience in the converting or printing industries a plus.
  • Ability to utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the installation, repair, modification and maintenance of equipment
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts highly preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic shop math skills
