Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 12 Hour Nights


Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor



Role Summary: Perform actions to maintain various injection molding machines, processes, assembly, automation, systems, related manufacturing equipment, and other plant equipment under the general direction of a supervisor or manager.



Key Accountabilities:


●  Diagnose problems, dismantle equipment, repair or replace defective parts, and reassemble.


●  Practice safety at all times taking the necessary precautions and following all safety directives.


●  Consult manufacturing engineering as needed on major repairs or if additional help is needed.


●  Investigate, diagnose, and monitor, electronic issues related to the controls of all equipment.


●  Perform assigned inspections and preventative maintenance. Report anything questionable, complete required records and reports.


●  Manage Equipment and Facilities Maintenance Tool Parts Crib as required.



Interactions Internal/External:


●  Externally interacts with outside Vendors.


 Internally interacts with Mold Technicians and the Engineering Department.



Key Competencies:


●  Able to perform assigned inspections and preventative maintenance. Report anything questionable, complete required records and reports.


●  Keep safety & housekeeping always. Sweep, empty trash, breakdown boxes, and align bins.


●  Get quotations for items that need to be ordered.


●  Ensure storage locations are organized and everything is properly and correctly labeled.


●  Ability to perform hand operations and work with various power tools as required.


●  Able to review and update parts checkout list. Also, able to determine items that need to be ordered.


●  Must maintain maintenance records in MP2 and any manual process and systems.


●  Able to communicate any recommended improvements, issues, or concerns with Maintenance Supervisor. Follow-up to ensure corrective action has been implemented and closed.


●  Requires proper environmental practices and involves the proper disposal of machine oils and other aspects used in operations.


●  Understand and adhere to IATF/ISO14001 procedures specific to department.


●  All parts and items received at ITW must be recorded in MP2; able to adjust quantities.


●  All parts and items received must be put away and stored in the correct locations.


●  Ensure continuous improvement is practiced with MP2. Add minimums, maximums, quantities to be ordered, reorder points for all inventory parts and items. Add details including vendor identification, vendor supplier numbers, manufacturers, costs, and specifications.



Education & Experience:


 High school education or equivalent is preferred.



Physical Requirements:


●  Must be able to read blueprints and work with detailed information.


●  Must be able to work with oils and substances, such as grease, lubricants, and cleaners.


●  Must be able to maneuver around machines and equipment to make necessary repairs.


●  Must be able to use an electric fork truck.


 Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
