Job Description

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

The LMS Technology Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of administration and configuration for external learning management systems (LMSs), including project management, loading and testing of courses and curricula, managing user data, designing and generating learning reports, and troubleshooting technical and configuration issues. The Learning Technology Coordinator also leads in troubleshooting technical issues with Miller's Open Book instructor's portal.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and oversee the creation of documentation to ensure effective internal and external communication during the implementation of new processes and content.
  • Manage the administration of the ITW Welding Learning Management System and Instructors Portal to include, but not limited to:
  • loading modules; creating course catalogs, assessments, curriculum, interface design, and setup of automated delivery of participation reports as requested.
  • Serve as a project manager for development of new programs.
  • Obtain and maintain a deep understanding of all components, features, and functions of the LMS.
  • Subject matter expert for the LMS and provide ongoing user support including research, resolution, and escalation of LMS issues.
  • Test and maintain data integrity when implementing a project or with any code changes.
  • Interface with LMS vendor(s) on special projects and technical integrations with other systems.
  • Make recommendations on future improvements to content management, workflow processes, and user experience.
  • Troubleshooting LMS issues through interfacing with sales team, trainers, vendors, and distribution.
  • Has a firm understanding of organizational goals for learning and development and ability to map organization learning needs to system functionality.
  • Administer security setup for new LMS users; employees and partners

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience.
  • 5 years' experience administering an LMS with experience testing and troubleshooting all standard operating systems and browsers.
  • Proven ability to create a plan to meet objectives

  • Ability to work independently, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once to meet deadlines
  • Strong aptitude for technology with the ability to absorb new ideas and
  • concepts quickly, solve system problems, and streamline processes.
  • Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience with database design (SQL Server), e-commerce technologies, PHP scripting, JavaScript, and other Web technologies a plus
