Job Description

POSITION:           3rd Shift Lead Person/Maintenance


SHIFT:                  3rd Shift


HOURS:                12:00a.m. to 8:00a.m. (Mon through Sat generally)




  • Lead by example and enforce all company rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate employee coverage for areas of absenteeism/vacation or other production needs
  • Communicate all personnel, quality, safety, production, environmental, or maintenance issues with upper management in a timely manner--hold monthly/weekly meetings
  • Have input towards employee reviews--administer disciplinary meetings/actions as required.
  • Floater-covers where needed in production areas


  • Monitor and understand all aspects of the production process (Cleaning, Drawing, Annealing, and Shipping) to achieve all production requirements and goals.
  • Review production reports daily and host Daily Huddle Meetings at start of shift
  • Ensure cleaning house tanks are operating with-in specifications—titrate—dump tanks when needed.


  • Review equipment inspections for each department: Identify, document, & review with employees & Management any know issues, repairs made, or items taken out of service as needed.
  • Safety - ensure all employees operate within all company and OSHA guidelines,
  • Quality- ensures quality throughout the process including finished material. Follow proper NCR procedures.

    • Support Quality Management System by ensuring that employees follow their job specific work instructions.


  • Maintain WWTP and ensure that we are discharging within the limits of our POTW permit from the city—High Priority!!
  • General building maintenance/security to protect employees as well as ITW assets.   
  • Maintain HCL and Sulfuric Scrubbers to ensure that we are meeting emissions limitations of our PTIO issued by the EPA

    • Ensure we meet operational restrictions and complete all required monitoring/recordkeeping requirements
    • Responsible for taking and documenting prompt corrective action for any deviation to our PTIO  

  • Ensure that we do not compromise our Ohio EPA - NPDES General Permit for storm water discharges
  • Maintain HCL and Sulfuric acid tanks. Perform KSF duties as assigned along with the receiving of chemicals.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical problems to keep plant/equipment operational.

Preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned.
