M&C Specialties, a business within the Pressure Sensitive Adhesive & Components division of ITW is searching for an innovative, energetic, and driven Lead Applications Engineer to join our team. The successful applicant will partner with customers to develop new and improve existing applications that best serve our customers and are consistent our strategic objectives. The Lead Applications Engineer is responsible for product requirement design and documentation including material selection, process optimization, and customer presentation for the fabrication of specialty die cut components with a focus on the healthcare, electronics, and automotive end markets. 

This person will:

  • lead the application engineering team by instructing, directing and reviewing work
  • evaluate customer needs and develop proposals and presentations  to communicate solutions to meet the customer requirements
  • assemble accurate cost estimates for new projects and monitor performance to estimates
  • document manufacturing information for finished products, including work instructions, drawings, etc.
  • resolve complex applications design issues and provide alternative solutions
  • provide technical advice during negotiations with strategic customers
  • appraise technological developments and feasibility of new techniques
  • support sales team as process and material selection, cost and capability expert
  • produce technical, process and customer drawings using CAD software
  • perform tooling design using tolerance, cost and customer requirements
  • collaborate with quality department to resolve issues related to process and material utilizing CAPA and root cause analysis
  • collaborate with production team on training needs, machine set up and process improvements

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline

- A minimum of four years of related experience
