Job Description


Job Summary:

This position entails all aspects of product testing and development, as well as product attribute enhancement and performance troubleshooting under the supervision of the R&D Director.  A high degree of independent work ability and individual initiative will be expected in fulfilling the requirements of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and test lab and plant batches of current and potential new Engine Repair products under the supervision of the Director of R&D. Fill samples for field testing.
  • Evaluate and provide comparison attribute data on competitive products vs. their associated Engine Repair counterpart products
  • Assist in locating and procuring any laboratory supplies, equipment and instrumentation that is needed by the department
  • Perform regular calibrations and validations of test equipment and laboratory chemical solutions
  • Ensure safety by identifying potential hazards and by observing all laboratory and plant safety requirements
  • Test potential new raw material alternatives provided by Purchasing Department for evaluation for stability and compatibility in product formulas
  • Additional job activities as may be required by the R&D Department


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or applicable field
  • 1-2 years relevant practical laboratory experience
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate and excellent organization skills
  • Must have excellent math skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
