Job Description:

This individual will be responsible for mechanical calibrations.

Duties include, but are not limited to: Maintenance and calibration of all mechanical test equipment used at Miller Electric, Bernard and TEO, as well as some vendor equipment. Includes torque tools and precision measuring tools. Responsible for the record keeping and scheduling of calibrations using calibration Fluke software. Will work closely with engineers and vendors on the purchase of new test equipment. Also responsible for following and maintainng calibration procedures per ISO requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to identify and read with 100% accuracy all mechanical measuring instruments
  • Must have the ability to evaluate condition of equipment and perform necessary repaits to equipment as required
  • This position requires the successful candidate to have the willingness to accommodate the customer's schedule and production demands

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree (AAS) in Machine Shop/Mechanical Field required
  • Must have (5) five years-experience in a machine shop environment
  • Prefer recent Quality Control experience
  • Must be a self-starter and work with limited supervison
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be willing to attend Calibration Trainng on an annual basis to stay up to date with current certificaitons in calibration
  • Limited travel required - mostly local/Wisconsin
  • The candidate must show a demonstrated track record of building successful vendor/supplier relationships
  • Proven track record of attention to detail, good follow through and effective resolution to problems
  • Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, high demanding environment
  • Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions
  • Able to relate effectively in a professional manner with customers
  • Communicate using verbal and written skills in ways that honor diversity
  • Practice safe work habits
  • Strong mathematical skills i.e. trigonomety/geometry
  • Familiarity experience with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Flexibility to work unscheduled/short notice overtime

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • 2 year technical degree in electronics, electro-mechanical or related field OR a minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering product development and/or support is required
  • Candidate must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation and excellent interpersonal skills who works well in a business unit team environment with minimum supervision.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to write accurate and concise reports is required
  • Up to 5% travel may be required
