Job Description

Commercial Journeyman Electrician

This individual is responsible for maintaining, reporting and installing electrical systems, services, and equipment for the business.

●  Installing and or replace new lighting and lighting control systems, receptacles, motors and motor controlling equipment, heating equipment, and building automation systems that control the operation of all of a facility’s energy usage.

●  Install new wire in existing systems or repairing old wiring.

●  Provide power and controls to motors, HVAC, and other equipment.

●  Possess the ability to install fire alarm, security, lighting control, data/telecom, and energy management systems.

●  Ability to mount panel boards, transformers, switch gear, transfer switches, and other various types of equipment.

●  Perform preventative maintenance on variably frequency drives (VFD’s), motors, pumps, generators, etc.,

●  Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all electrical fixtures and systems in the facility.

Job Requirements

●  Must possess a minimum of seven (7) years electrical installation experience in a commercial or industrial setting and a valid Texas Journeyman Electrical License.

●  Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals

●  Experienced and proficient in running rigid and EMT electrical conduit with precision

●  Experience with both low-voltage and high-voltage systems

●  Operate propelled and stationary personnel lifts

●  Communicate effectively with management level personnel

●  Knowledge of and ability to operate electrical equipment, hand and power tools

●  Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics

●  Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

●  Ability to work unsupervised

●  Neat and professional appearance
